To create a suitable nest for hedgehogs you should place the hedgehog housing on dry ground, in a quiet sheltered spot in the garden.

Cover the housing with a thick layer of leaves, then a plastic sheet and then more leaves, twigs and other foliage.

Leave the entrance clear and facing south or south west and place a bedding of dry leaves inside.
