When your horse has been sweating especially in hot weather he may need to replace the salts lost in his sweat. Dodson and Horrell Electrolytes can be added to his feed or mixed in water to rehydrate him.
Some horses may also need them if they are bad travellers and lose sweat in this way not just due to exercise.
Feeding guide:- Feed 12g/100kg bodyweight per day for horses and ponies.
For example feed a 200-400kg pony approximately 0.5-1 scoop per day and feed a 400-600kg horse approximately 1-1.5 scoops per day.
This supplement should be either added to feed or mixed with water.
Electrolytes can also be mixed in water a rate of 1 scoop per 2.5litres of water to provide your horse with an isotonic oral rehydration solution.
